About the producer:
The Thageini wet mill is one of four mills run by the Aguthi Farmer’s Cooperative Society, which includes around 2,000 members, with roughly 350 men and 100 women at Thageini alone. The society is committed to supporting its members with training on farm management, sorting, and agronomy, while also organizing workshops to foster learning and collaboration.
Since partnering with Thageini in 2017, Project Origin has focused on community and infrastructure development. Notably, in 2018, Thageini provided outstanding washed coffees, prompting an investment in their facilities to improve coffee quality and offer new experiences. In 2019, Project Origin helped set up carbonic maceration processes and funded new drying beds, further enhancing the mill's capabilities.
